As La Flor Events approaches its 10th anniversary, we continue to form new partnerships with small businesses and local farmers throughout the Hawaiian archipelago. By building intimate, lasting relationships with farmers and vendors. With a specialty in large-scale floral artistry, our team designs breathtaking hanging installations and immersive statement pieces that bring beauty, dimension, and wonder to any event or space.

meet the owner

Vanessa has loved flowers since she was a little girl growing up in Los Cabos, Mexico, where her mom & grandma created beautiful gardens with plumeria trees, pikake, roses and so many other varieties of gorgeous flowers. She’s worked in events in various capacities for more than 20 years and created memorable events on O’ahu for more than a decade.

Vanessa worked for several world-renowned resorts and event companies, including Turtle Bay Resort and Flora Farms, where she spearheaded events for major corporate clients, including Hollywood studios and the NFL. Next, she fine-tuned her florist skills when studying floral design in London and launching La Flor Events.

Her creations have been featured everywhere from vibrant, colorful wedding displays on O’ahu’s North Shore to elaborate floral installations featured in the pages of Vogue Magazine. She finds deep inspiration in client relationships and from the bountiful beauty the Hawaiian islands provide.

Her artistic vision is matched only by her heartfelt professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. She prides herself on delivering beauty and joy in every arrangement she creates.

meet the lead designer

Kammy has been by Vanessa’s side throughout the last 7  years at La Flor and is a vital key to its continued success. Coming from a long line of proud Hawai’ians, Kammy has a deep understanding of and appreciation for the natural beauty and power of the ‘Āina.

Coming from a family of taro farmers, Kammy grew up with a deep appreciation of the Aina and has nurtured native plants using local methods from a young age. Her deep connection to nature and rich ancestral roots have given her an intuitive understanding of the changing seasons, allowing her to create arrangements that reflect the beauty, abundance, and rhythms of Hawai’i’s natural landscape. 

She also has close relationships with many Hawai’ian farmers and local businesses, and brings her unique Hawai’ian vision and traditions to every arrangement at La Flor. Clients always remember her for her positive spirit and steadfast work ethic. She goes above and beyond for the client at every event, and always with a smile.

meet the finance manager

Michelle is a seasoned events professional with more than a decade of experience in weddings and events. She has helped coordinate events with La Flor for more than 7 years, and brings unique knowledge and unmatched professionalism to every inquiry.

As your first point of contact, Michelle is happy to share her intimate knowledge of local wedding venues and vendors, as well as her incredible corporate event expertise, which very few others possess. 

Her attention to detail and incredible client communication are integral to the flawless success of every La Flor event.
